Rabbi Ilana Zietman (she/her) is a pluralistic rabbi who creates Jewish experiences and fosters communities that are relevant, thought-provoking and most importantly, welcoming. She currently serves as the Community Rabbi of GatherDC, a nonprofit that connects Jewish 20s & 30s to each other, engages them in Jewish DC, and facilitates their development of meaningful adult Jewish identities – wherever they go in life. Ilana moved back to DC in 2019 after five years in Boston, where she received her rabbinic ordination and a master’s degree in Jewish Education from Hebrew College. Prior to rabbinical school, Ilana worked at the Tahirih Justice Center and, through Avodah, her beloved job placement, N Street Village. Ilana graduated from Barnard College and the Jewish Theological Seminary in 2011 with BA’s in Religious Studies and Tanakh/Bible respectively. She is originally from Brooklyn, New York.
