“Avodah is respected by people across the political spectrum for its engagement in real tikkun olam.”

– Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, z”l

Avodah is honored to have received three donations from Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg before her passing. We could not imagine a more meaningful gift than her blessing in support of our work.

At Avodah, we believe that Jewish leaders have the power to help change our country for the better. For more than 20 years, we’ve helped develop lifelong social justice leaders whose work is nourished and inspired by Jewish values. When you give to Avodah, you help create a more just and equitable world – and you’re in good company.

Avodah was selected by award-winning director, producer, and philanthropist Steven Spielberg to receive a grant in his honor from The Genesis Prize Foundation. Avodah is one of 10 organizations that split the $1 million Genesis Prize money, with Spielberg and Kate Capshaw contributing an additional $1 million in matching funds. Avodah was selected on the basis of our strong racial and economic justice work.

“The mission of Avodah to me captures what is best about the Jewish faith – and that is a commitment to social justice. It is endemic to who we are as Jews. This puts it into action and involves young people in such a meaningful way at a time that we desperately need it.”

– David Axelrod, former Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama
