Job Description: Avodah seeks a seasoned, engaging fundraiser with major gifts experience and demonstrated management acumen to steward and grow our major donor portfolio, supervise the major donor fundraising efforts of the rest of Avodah’s national fundraising team members (3-4 staff located in New York, Kansas City, San Diego, and Washington, DC or Chicago), and expand the revenue received from Avodah’s major donors.
The Director of Major Gifts will be located in either Avodah’s DC or Chicago office and will remotely report to and collaborate closely with Avodah’s Director of Development in New York. Job Description: Avodah secures more than $2 million in grants from more than 50 foundations annually, which represents more than 55-percent of the organization’s budget. Avodah seeks a Part-time (i.e., 20 hours/week) Grant Writer to work closely with the Foundations Manager to write, edit and/or compile foundation submissions. They will also conduct research on prospective funders. Job Description: The Jews of Color (JOC) Recruiter role will help strategize and execute recruitment tactics that support Avodah’s work in building participant cohorts that are reflective of the full racial diversity of the U.S. Jewish community. The work will include auditing current strategies and materials, helping to create new tactics, and conducting outreach to potential JOC applicants as well as community leaders. Ideal applicants will enjoy both higher-level thinking and leg work to move projects forward.
