The Jewish Service Corps

Frequently Asked Questions

Accessibility

In order to help applicants make the best decisions possible about whether or not Avodah is right for them, this section contains information about the physical accessibility of our batim (communal homes) and mental health and neurodiversity in the Jewish Service Corps. If you have additional questions about other aspects of the program, we strongly encourage you to reach out to our team at apply@avodah.net to discuss.

Please note that you do not need to disclose a disability during the application process or the program. However, we are interested in understanding your needs and discussing how we can better meet program participants’ needs. We recognize that accessibility needs are not stagnant, and aim to create a culture where we are regularly checking in with program participants about accessibility. Additionally, while we strive to create a program that is as accessible as possible, we recognize that there are times when there are logistical or financial constraints that preclude us from achieving full program accessibility. We are committed to being transparent about what needs we can and cannot accommodate, so that applicants can make informed decisions about whether our program would be a good fit for them.
