Network Weaving

Our Network Weavers step up in cities across the country by creating programs that strengthen relationships within the alumni community. These programs can offer training in new skills related to Judaism, social justice and antipoverty work, provide opportunities to explore the connection between Judaism and justice , and create collaborations to engage the local Jewish community in antipoverty work.

A few examples of how we do this:

  • Chicago alumni host an annual Friendsgiving celebration
  • In DC, we offered a training on socially responsible investing
  • Alumni in New Orleans hosted a “Study with a Buddy” in partnership with a local synagogue involving text study about mass incarceration
  • In New York city, alumni took over Bluestockings Bookstore for Storyslam during which Avodahniks took to the stage
