Avodah Paralegal – New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG), Public Benefits Unit 
Shahriar (Sheridan) Bahar, is a Persian Jew who left Iran at the age of 8 for Los Angeles, California and shortly after moved to Dubai, where he finished High School. After graduation, Sheridan moved back to Los Angeles, where he attended college and resided until August 2015 when he decided to serve in AmeriCorps Vista for one year in New Orleans, prior to joining Avodah. Sheridan is dedicated to becoming a Foreign Service Officer at the State Department and he practices Reform Judaism; he’s committed to bringing in young LGBTQ Jews together on different occasions and engaging them together to create strong Jewish communities. Sheridan is currently a member of Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) and a member of Newcomers Task Force at The Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans.
