Sabrina Gillman-Basave joined Avodah in 2016 after working abroad for nearly 10 years. She worked mostly in Central America and the Caribbean in International Development and Service Learning. Although Sabrina loved working in community development globally, in 2015 she was ready to return to her own communities in the U.S. and affect change locally. Sabrina earned her dual master’s degrees in International Affairs and in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development at American University. While Washington, DC is not her original home, Sabrina is excited to be working in this city again. Although the hiking, paddling and outdoor activities in DC are not nearly as spectacular as they are in her hometown of Seattle, she appreciates the vibrant culture, beautiful architecture and diversity of the District.
