Rose Silverman (she/her) serves as Avodah’s Chicago Program Director. She moved to Chicago from Massachusetts in 2018 and quickly rooted herself in the multiracial and multigenerational organizing community with the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA), where she facilitates the organization’s racial justice affinity space for white Jews. She also worked as a second- and third-grade teacher at the Francis W. Parker School. As an alum of the Avodah Justice Fellowship (Chicago, 2018-2019), she knows how powerful this community is and the opportunity to support Service Corps members in their pursuit of building the world as it could be is beautifully cyclical. Outside of this work, Rose is grateful to live in Doykeit, a queer Jewish communal home in Chicago, where she enjoys experiments in the kitchen, reading on Shabbat, and curating music playlists for any and all occasions.
