Rachel Rubenstein is the Yoetzet Ruach for the Avodah Service Corps in New York City. Rachel is in her final year of studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary pursuing ordination through the Rabbinical School and a Master’s of Jewish Education at the Davidson School. Rachel was a Truah Summer Fellow in Human Rights Leadership where she worked with Community Voices Heard on their campaign to end the Work Experience Program (WEP) and has completed one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, working as a chaplain with patients in the oncology and neurology units. Previously, Rachel has worked on fostering productive conversations in the Jewish community around Israel/Palestine through the Jewish Dialogue Group and Students for a Peaceful Palestinian Israeli Future. Rachel has taught in a variety of Jewish educational settings and is currently the recipient of a JTS Innovation Grant funded by the David and Inez Myers Foundation to create hands-on, home-based Jewish family learning. Rachel lives in the beautiful Hudson Valley, and can often be found hiking with her Australian Shepherd and exploring new local coffee shops.
