Rachel Mayo was born and raised in Queens, New York. She earned a B.A. in Psychology, Legal Studies, and Social Justice & Social Policy from Brandeis University, after which she moved to Chicago to join Teach for America. In June of 2016, she finished her corps commitment while simultaneously earning an M.S. Ed from Dominican University. Currently, Rachel teaches Pre-K in her placement classroom at Marillac St. Vincent Family Services, a community-based organization located on the West Side of Chicago. Rachel is invested in exploring issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, inside and outside of education.
