Rachel Kaplan

Rachel Kaplan has worked as a lawyer in the public sector for over two decades. She is the Acting Equal Employment Officer for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). She has previously represented the City of Chicago in employment matters and served as a lawyer in the Education Division of the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office. Rachel has been a member of the Civic Leadership Council of the Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago, which promotes civic and political engagement among K-12 students.  In addition, she has been a longstanding board member of The ARK, a Jewish social service agency providing services to low income individuals (and an Avodah placement organization). Rachel hails from the land of the frozen chosen, otherwise known as Minneapolis, but now lives in the significantly warmer climate of Chicago. She attended the University of Pennsylvania and Boston University School of Law. Rachel got involved with Avodah several years ago after hearing a Corps Member speak about her transformative experience in the program.
