Maxi Jaffe serves on the San Diego Advisory Council at Avodah.
She was raised to be an inspiring Jewish leader. Judaism and social justice has always been an important part of her life. She attended the San Diego Jewish Academy from kindergarten to her high school graduation, which broadened her Jewish knowledge and cultivated her passion for community service. She then enrolled in Kivunim, a transformative gap year program based in Jerusalem with travels to more than 10 other countries. Kivunim gave Maxi a comprehensive education into the history of Israel and the Jewish diaspora in parts of Europe, Africa, and Asia, as well as reinforcing her desire to promote social responsibility. She graduated from American University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry and a minor in Justice and Law. Maxi is an avid baker and enjoys traveling, reading, solving puzzles, and discussing her passions. Having recently relocated from New York City, she is looking forward to reestablishing her community in San Diego and giving back to the city she loves.
