Margaret O’Connor

Margaret O’Connor* is a Program Officer in the South and Central Asia Programs (Fulbright) Branch in the Office of Academic Exchange Programs, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), U.S. Department of State. She is responsible for the Fulbright Pakistan and Global Undergraduate Exchange Programs in Pakistan. Prior to joining ECA, Margaret worked as a research consultant for the Afghanistan Public Policy research Organization analyzing the status of the National Action Plan for Women in Afghanistan and as Program Officer on the Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan teams with the Department of State’s Office of the Coordinator for Reconstruction and Stabilization. Margaret is an alumna of Avodah DC 2007-2008. After Avodah, Margaret spent some time in Israel at the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies living with Israelis and Palestinians and engaging in peacebuilding and mediation activities. Margaret holds a Master’s from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in and received her B.A. from Indiana University-Bloomington. Margaret serves on the Finance Committee.
