Liat Deener-Chodirker is the Executive Assistant and Special Projects Manager at Avodah. She previously held the role of Executive Assistant. Liat first joined Avodah as a Jewish Service Corps member in August 2017, serving as an Enrichment Program Coordinator at the Adams Street Foundation, a college access nonprofit. Liat graduated from the University of Maryland (UMD) with a degree in American Studies and a minor in Israel Studies. She is dedicated to building justice-oriented Jewish communities. Some of her previous experiences include serving as the Vice President of the Southeast on the J Street U National Board; leading a Hillel Alternative Break Trip to New Orleans focused on mass incarceration; co-founding a traditional egalitarian community at UMD; and being a Summer Fellow at the Hadar Institute. In her free time, Liat enjoys curling up with a good book, discovering new dishes to cook, and baking challah for Shabbat.
