Jess serves as the Marketing, Communications, and Archive Assistant for Ashé Cultural Arts Center.
She hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania as a double major in English and Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies. Before Avodah, she spent her last year serving as an AmeriCorps fellow, teaching children with reading difficulties. In Philadelphia, Jess taught guitar and bass at School of Rock, worked as a guitarist for event company EBE Talent, and played in many local projects. In August, she’ll be releasing a collaborative mixtape through Notice Recordings. Jess can’t wait to explore New Orleans’ music scene, and to continue her work as an activist through Avodah!
