Jenny Ackerman Helfand serves on Avodah’s Advisory Council for D.C.
Jenny Ackerman Helfand (NY 03-04) is a Clinical Social Worker currently at the National Institutes of Health. She received her MSW from Hunter College and her MPH from Hebrew University Medical School’s Braun School of Public Health in Jerusalem, Israel. Jenny credits her experience in Avodah (placement at the Urban Justice Center’s Mental Health Project) as a formative experience in both her professional, communal, and personal commitments to social change initiatives. Jenny is married to Rabbi Corey Helfand. They live in Chevy Chase, Maryland with their three children. She enjoys being in nature, cooking for others, running, and dance parties in the kitchen with her children.
