Jennifer Medberry serves on the New Orleans Advisory Council at Avodah.
She founder and CEO of Kickboard by Drop the Chalk, is a software developer who spent three years in the classroom as a high school math teacher. After receiving her degree in Computer Science from Columbia University, Jen joined Teach For America in the Mississippi Delta and then served as a founding teacher at a high-performing charter school in New Orleans. The teacher-friendly software that Drop the Chalk provides is now used by schools in 12 states. In 2013, Jen was named as one of Forbes 30 Under 30. Jen is passionate about racial equity work in the Jewish community and is a co-founder of the New Orleans Safety and Freedom Fund, a community bail fund and bail reform organization.
