Esther Lederman

Rabbi Esther Lederman serves on the Rabbinic Cabinet at Avodah.

She works at the Union for Reform Judaism directing the Communities of Practice program which helps networks of congregations work together to improve their practices. Previously, she was Assistant Rabbi at Temple Micah, and the Marshall T. Meyer Fellow at Congregation B’nai Jeshurun of Manhattan. She was ordained in May 2008 from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York City. Before becoming a rabbi, Esther held positions with the Israel Policy Forum, directed a project on Middle East peace education for the Union for Reform Judaism, and served as the National Director of Habonim Dror North America. She received her B.A. in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies from McGill University in 1996.
