Emily Isaacson

Jewish Council on Urban Affairs

Emily, from the north Suburbs of Chicago, is excited to be a part of Avodah in Chicago! This past May, Emily graduated from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio where they double majored in Comparative American Studies, with a concentration in Histories and Practices of Social Change, and Religion– a perfect pairing to do social justice work through a religious lense! Emily is thrilled to be working at the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA) through Avodah, having first gotten involved at JCUA through their teen programs when Emily was 16. Emily decided to be a part of Avodah because taking political action grounded in Jewish values, living communally, and learning and growing with other young people are central to the kind of community they want to be building; Avodah is a perfect fit for that!
