Rabbi Ellie Steinman is the Director of Religious Education at Temple Beth Hillel in Los Angeles, California. Rabbi Steinman serves as a board member of the Pacific Association of Reform Rabbis and is the Southern California representative for the Women’s Rabbinic Network. She is also a proud member of the Central Conference of American Rabbis and the National Association of Temple Educators. From July 2012-June 2013, Rabbi Steinman served as the Executive Director of California Faith for Equality, an interfaith organization that educates, organizes and supports California’s faith communities to promote equality for LGBT people and to safeguard religious freedoms. Most recently, Rabbi Steinman served as the Director of Programs and Fund Development for A Wider Bridge, an organization that serves to inspire LGBT Jews to deepen their Jewish identity through connection to Israel. Rabbi Steinman received her Bachelors Degree from Brandeis University, her Rabbinic Ordination from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2008, her Masters in Jewish Education from HUC-JIR in 2012, and participated in the Avodah Service Corps in New York City in 2001.
