Ben Bennett is an Avodah alumnus from the D.C. 2013-2014 Corps and is currently in his first year at the Columbia Law School. He grew up in Wilmette, Illinois and graduated from Solomon Schechter Day School and New Trier Township High School. Ben attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he was active in Hillel and volunteered at a network of homeless shelters staffed by volunteers from various Philadelphia colleges and universities. Ben worked at Bread for the City as the Legal Clinic Coordinator during his Avodah year and continued for another year as the Legal/Social Services Case Manager, where he specialized in Social Security benefits access. Ben has received fellowships from Yeshivat Hadar, Dorot, Adamah, and of course Avodah, and he is excited to give back to the Jewish community through this new role. Ben has also been trained as a yoga teacher and enjoys running and cooking for his 28 person co-op.
