Rabbi Angela Buchdahl is the Senior Rabbi of Central Synagogue in Manhattan and a leader in the Jewish community’s effort to engage synagogues in grassroots organizing and interfaith cooperation for the greater good. She is the first ever Korean-American to become a member of the Jewish clergy and was ordained as a rabbi and invested as a cantor at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. She is active locally and nationally in Just Congregations, the Reform Movement’s Congregation-Based Community Organizing effort, and was instrumental in bringing Central into Manhattan Together, a coalition of synagogues and Black and Hispanic churches involved in grassroots organizing. Previously, Rabbi/Cantor Buchdahl served as associate rabbi/cantor at Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale, New York. She serves on the board of the Auburn Theological Seminary.
