Avodah NYC Recruitment Intern Summer 2018

Avodah is building a new generation of Jewish leaders to address our country’s most pressing social and economic issues. Through our Jewish Service Corps, Justice Fellowship, Community Engagement initiatives and alumni network, we provide emerging Jewish leaders with the tools, experience, and networks they need to work for an end to poverty in America.

 

Overall responsibilities for Avodah Recruitment Intern

The Recruitment Intern will provide support for Avodah’s national recruitment  work under the supervision of the Recruitment Manager. The work will include specific project assignments as well as overall day to day assistance as needed.

Specific Projects may include:

  • Engage in research to revise and build databases of academic, institutional, and organization contacts
  • Centralize communications and contacts into online database (Salesforce)
  • Conduct outreach to increase name visibility

 

Skills and Background

A successful intern will balance a positive, can-do attitude with excellent attention to detail and follow-through. Good verbal and written communication skills are required. Experience with Google Drive and previous experience working in an office is an advantage.

 

Schedule and compensation

We are seeking someone to work 25 hours a week over the summer. The exact dates and schedule will be worked out with the intern. Interns are unpaid, but  will have the opportunity to learn about our programmatic work, attend daytime or evening programs with Corps Members or Justice Fellows and do informational interviews with staff members.
